Appeal for Mercy
Appeal for Mercy - Habakkuk 3:1-2 (cf. Psalm 7)
Tom Douglas 5/12/24
Introduction:
How do we deal with looking around us and seeing so much that troubles
our hearts? When we look at our communities that are walking with so
much….. difficulty? Sin seems to be celebrated… or at least tolerated. It
has always been that way since the beginning. It seems like evil is winning.
I battle evil in my own heart. How about yours? Where do we go with all
of this when we are overwhelmed by it all? Habakkuk has given us the
answer!
Key Idea: Jesus, my only hope is you!!!
• Worship is always the appropriate response!
• Remember who God is….by recounting what He has done!
• We can rely on God to always act on our behalf!
So What:
1. We simply must know God's Word better than we do today
2. We must ask ourselves, “HOW we can worship in this moment?”
3. Have you ever written down what God has done in your life?
4. When God acts on our behalf, so often, there are short term
consequences and long-term benefits.
